1st Wish | Video

[part of Aladdin's face appears on the screen - only part, because he hasn't quite gotten the hang of how the video function works. Instead you get a tilted view of the side of his head, and the end of Abu's tail]

Hey, so, this will let everyone hear me, right? Guess I should say hi - I'm Aladdin. I don't really know much about being a Guard (if the Guards back in Agrabah knew about this I think they'd laugh), but I'll see what I can do to help.

That's where I'm from. Guess you've never heard of it, huh?

No, I'm afraid not. I came here from Camelot. Have you heard of that?

Nah, never heard of it. But then I don't know much about places outside of Agrabah. If Jasmine were here, she might have. [and at the thought of Jasmine, Aladdin looks a little forlorn. He's missing her already, and wondering f deciding to come to the Barge was really the best thing to do]

[She cocks her head a little at that, curiosity getting the best of her.] Your wife?

[doyoutrustme]

Not yet. She's my fiance. [He smiles, in a way that clearly shows how he's missing her]

[Somewhere way down deep that makes her a little sad. Once upon a time, Morgana was a ridiculous shipper, but things change and she doesn't actually buy into love as a reality so much anymore.]

Whyever you're here must be very important, to have left her.

[Aladdin's face falls a little at that]

I don't know if I've done the right thing here. I love Jasmine so much, but...when I marry her, it means I'll be Sultan one day. And I don't know anything about how to be Sultan! And all of the Sultan's advisors keep talking about how someone like me could never be a Sultan...

[he slumps] I do want to help people. Give someone a chance when they wouldn't have had one before. But I guess I kinda just...wanted to get away from all of that too.

[Son of a bitch, is this another servant rising to the throne story, MORGANA HATES EVERYTHING. But she's good at pretending. And she's good at pretending to look concerned.]

From what I've seen, this is a good place to escape to. At least for a little while. [Pause because she has to be certain :|] You're not a prince?

[Just replace 'servant' for 'street rat', and it's exactly that Morgana. But this time Jasmine doesn't have a secret evil older sibling out to get the throne.]

Nah, I'm not a Prince. Although I was, for a time. [grins] It's kinda complicated.

[She needs to have a hulk rage moment at some point. FOR NOW she's just going to keep that smile on her face.]

It certainly sounds that way. I have time.

Well, after I met Jasmine in the marketplace - I didn't know she was the Princess then - I got caught by the Guards. Then I found out she was the Princess, but then I was thrown into the dungeon. Not that that made much of a difference - there was a law, you see. She had to marry a Prince. But the Sultan's advisor, Jafar - at least, I think it was Jafar - really just wanted to go into the Cave of Wonders and fetch the lamp for him. Inside was Genie - he's a djinn, which meant if you rubbed his lamp, he would grant you three wishes. Jafar didn't end up with the lamp - Abu took it from him after he tried to kill me, so I found Genie and made a wish to become a Prince. I figured at least then I'd have a chance.

The Prince thing didn't exactly stick, though. Once Jafar got his hands on the lamp, he wished to be the greatest sorcerer in the world and changed me back to normal again. But I shouldn't have pretended to be something I wasn't. Jasmine liked me as me, anyway, not like 'every other stuffed shirt, swaggering, peacock she's met'. [They don't use air quotes in Agrabah, but it's pretty clear from the way Aladdin talks that he's quoting Jasmine with that line] And once we defeated Jafar, the Sultan changed the law so that the Princess could marry whoever she wanted. [Aladdin smiles at that for a moment]

[...She is Jafar in this story. She doesn't think she likes that. In fact she is super unsettled by it, but she's going to, you know. Smile and sympathize and pretend like a champ.]

You were right. That is complicated. Magic is unwelcomed in Agrabah, then?

[She's at least not exactly like Jafar. Especially since it would be very weird if Morgana were to try and force Arthur to marry her and make him into a trophy consort.

But Aladdin himself is looking rather confused] No, magic's not unwelcome.

[...Okay yes that would be super weird. Jafar is a much worse villain than her. Particularly his lack of scooby style flair.

Also, DOES EVERYWHERE BUT CAMELOT ACCEPT MAGIC? :C]

I thought, because this Jafar was a sorcerer...

[You're not a proper villain until you've turned yourself into a giant snake, Morgana. You should work on that]

Why would that make magic bad? Genie and Carpet are magic too, and they're my friends.
