Hey, so, this will let everyone hear me, right? Guess I should say hi - I'm Aladdin. I don't really know much about being a Guard (if the Guards back in Agrabah knew about this I think they'd laugh), but I'll see what I can do to help.

[Narvin says rather pissily. His organization back on Gallifrey,the Celestial Intervention Agency, has a bit of a rivalry with the Chancellery Guards, so he objects to the idea of wardens being called anything Guard-like. (Even if they rather are.)]

Oh, this is Abu. He's my friend. [fortunately Aladdin shifts the communicator as he talks, enough that Abu is visible. The monkey picks up his fez and salutes, chattering what sounds a lot like 'hello']

Hey, so this is called a camera? [Aladdin moves the communicator as told. Now you can see also of his face! And also Abu, who's peering at the screen] How's this?

He's my friend. Why wouldn't I bring him? [and at that Abu chatters angrily, his little monkey fist sneaking its way into view as he shakes it at Flynn. Where Aladdin goes, Abu goes!]

[When Aladdin gets Chromie's message, he just stares at it for a moment. It's in text, and obviously it means something. But Aladdin can't read, which means absolutely he has no idea what it means.

And Abu can't read either, so he can't just ask him for help.

In the end he just ends up staring at it blankly without doing anything]

As far as I remember, he only rubbed Genie's lamp because he thought something was written on it, and trying to get a better look seems like an odd thing for someone to do if they wouldn't be able to read it anyway. Having said that, if that scene's contradicted by later sources then ignore me :C]

Personally I view the scene with the lamp as him trying to make out perhaps a pictorial symbol (or what he thinks could be one), but that is basically my own interpretation there and not something that's canon.]]
