I am not sure that 'Guard' is the best word. It is less so that Wardens are set to watch over prisoners; more that we provide support in their own search for freedom.

As far as I remember, he only rubbed Genie's lamp because he thought something was written on it, and trying to get a better look seems like an odd thing for someone to do if they wouldn't be able to read it anyway. Having said that, if that scene's contradicted by later sources then ignore me :C]

[[ooc: Yes, but it's headcanon - since he's had no education at all, to me it makes sense for him to not be able to read (and it is a personal preference of mine, since I find playing out how Aladdin deals with his lack of education interesting). Personally I view the scene with the lamp as him trying to make out perhaps a pictorial symbol (or what he thinks could be one), but that is basically my own interpretation there and not something that's canon.]]

If I was to offer one piece of advice, myself, it would be that the Barge is not a place of punishment as a prison might be. Lingering on the past of anyone here is not useful, only what they might do differently and accomplish in the future.

It's kinda different from anything I've ever known about. They don't exactly try to rehabilitate anyone in Agrabah. I'm glad it's not a place of punishment, though. I'm not sure I could punish anybody.
